Java™ 1.4.2_05 or higher is required for MMTx:
If you are only going to use Java™ for running the MMTx program, you will only need the Java™ Runtime Environment (JRE). The following link will take you to Sun's Java™ 2 Platform, Standard Edition download web page. From that web page, select the latest (non Beta) version of JRE typically entitled something similar to the following: Java ™ 2, Runtime Environment, Standard Edition, v1.4.2 (JRE).
If you are going to use Java™ for augmenting these programs or for other Java ™ based programming, it is recommended that you download the Java™ SDK. The following link will take you to Sun's Java™ 2 Platform, Standard Edition download web page. From that web page, select the latest (non Beta) version of SDK typically entitled something similar to the following: Java™ 2 SDK, Standard Edition, v1.4.2 (SDK). This release of Java ™ also includes the JRE.

Apache's Jakarta Project Ant program is required for MMTx if you wish to compile the source code:
The following link will take you to the Apache Jakarta Ant web page. From that web site, select the "Latest Release" that you would like to install ("Download the binary release", "Download the source release", or "Download source or binary RPMs").GNU's Gunzip is required for MMTx:
The following link will take you to one of GNU's Gzip ftp download web site. From that web site, select the latest (non Alpha/Beta) version of the Gzip software. Gunzip is incorporated in the Gzip GNU software package.
If you encounter problems using the above ftp site, please select the following link which will take you to GNU's official FTP site listing where you can select another ftp site from which to download the gzip software.
WinZip Computing, Inc.'s WinZip® is OPTIONAL for MMTx - PC Version:
The following link will take you to the WinZip® homepage where you will have the option of downloading their free "evaluation" version [ denoted by the "Download ## Evaluation Version" notation on the web page. ] or paying a relatively small price (~$29) and receiving the non-evaluation version [ denoted by the "Order Now" notation on the web page. ]. We are currently using version 8.0 of the WinZip® software and have found no problems interacting with the MMTx release.
There is no registration information required for the evaluation version. The only difference (currently) is that the evaluation version displays a brief message on startup about being able to register the software - otherwise it is fully functional.
